squirmy

squirmy...that is now your name. you wiggle and squirm and press your big head and big feet all over my belly and ribs. Your 28 weeks today and the "book" says you are at least 2 1/2 pounds and my guess is you weigh more. My belly is going out and is getting hard and when we go to the Dr. tomorrow we will see if I managed to gain some weight. Some days I have heartburn 24/7 and the idea of eating is next to impossible, but I push through so you can get the calories you need. We are in the third trimester and I should be eating even more calories now for you but I find it really hard to want to eat. You must love fruit though because that is all you want.

Don't worry though...your dad is eating for both of us;)

We have been to two weddings and once again I have learned you do NOT like loud noises like music and if I eat too much sugar...cake and apple juice I will barf in the parking lot. Then your grandma came to visit this last week and she got you a crib and helped us set up your room. She is very excited for you and will be back very soon near your birth. We took you to the ocean and you seemed to like it...no protests;)

You also had a baby shower with your dad's family and grandma and a few friends last weekend. They are very excited for you....you are kicking right now... you got lots of cute clothes and a car seat and stroller and high chair and a bear as big as mom. It's huge and awesome and creepy at the same time. Jo Jo felt your head and feet and is starting to understand you are in there and will be out in time for Thanksgiving. I don't think she will like having to share me with you. Her mom and twin sister want to hold you as soon as possible so I guess we will just trade kids.

I need to go back to school and set up my new classroom and then start teaching in a few weeks and I really hope you can be a good helper and not make me too sick or tired. I'm very nervous, very, very nervous about starting a new school, but I know this new job will be better for you and hopefully we will like it. I'll be able to spend a lot more time with you than if I was at the old school.

We are growing a lot of tomatoes that will be ready before you are ready and a pumpkin...a big one! that will be ready about the same time you are. Even though it would be fun to have a Halloween baby I think you better stay in for a few more days so you are nice and cooked before you come out.

I REALLY need to sign your dad and I up for birthing classes and I should be going to some exersise class but I'm lazy. I am up and really active though so I think we are ok. Look I'm going to go sign up for a class right now...just one moment

burn baby burn

Alright baby you are now 26 weeks and 1 day growing. If for some horrible reason you came out in the next two weeks you might be able to make it to live. Or not. so you better stay in there. You seem pretty comfy to me. You have been finding new positions to lounge in. Like head down towards my left hip and feet up near my lungs and ribs. Right now you are kicking and I'm watching my tummy move. Sometimes you don't kick...you just stretch and PUSH for a long time. A few nights ago I could feel pushing near my ribs and when you dad felt it he has no problem recognizing that was your food pushing. You feel very very strong for something that only weighs two pounds (although you probably are more than that knowing how much you weighed at the ultrasound a few weeks ago)

Sometimes, especially at night you give me horrible heartburn. hence burn baby burn. you also make it impossible to go poo unless I have some milk each day...something I have not been able to stomach my entire life. I like to have some thai ice tea with milk. I don't think all the tums for the heartburn are helping with the pooping issues. Oh well...more fiber I guess. It's been hot(ish) in the 80's and I seem to be really sensitive to the heat this summer. By 5pm when it's 84 in the house I feel miserable and don't want to eat. I still haven't gained much weight but my tummy is measuring at 25 when I saw the midwife last week and that is right now track. You have just sucked the fat from the rest of my body...can't really complain their although I worry my hips are getting skinnier than wider...how will I carry you around?

Speaking of Dr.'s we are no longer with our first Dr. I didn't like the people at her office and they always seemed disorganized and she looked annoyed when I got nervous about giving birth to you. We are now going to a group of midwives. We meet the first one and liked her a lot better and she was much more encouraging and said she thinks we will do great when the time comes. One of the midwives will stay with us most of the time so while your dad is passed out from fear and blood we will still have a cheer leading team.

I am going to sign you, me and your dad up for baby classes. a series of classes on childbirth, you better pay attention during that one, one on infant care...we know how to take care of doggies but not babies and one on breastfeeding. Once again you better pay attention so you can do your part. I should be going to yoga or water aerobics but I'm lazy, its hot and my car is not air conditioned.

We have a few weeks till school starts again and we won't see the kids for a while still but i'm trying to think of all my lesson plans and get them ready so we won't have to spend a ton of time at school and everything will be ok for the 12 weeks I am home with you. Allie had a job interview and if she gets the job she won't be able to sub for us so I think we need to email sparrow also as a backup. I hope I can get into my classroom soon before you make me much bigger so that I can put up things and set stuff up.

Keep growin baby. there is a pumpkin in the garden that is trying to outgrow you...you should both be ready about the same time!
